Mental Health Support – CornerHouse
For those looking for Mental Health Support local charities are often a great place and underestimated place to start. These are generally free of charge and can be attended without the need to speak to or get your doctors referral.
Description
CornerHouse Woking offers a range of free support groups for people by a variety of mental health issues. Groups take place in the CornerHouse building and also in Sheerwater (Parkview Centre) across different days and times of the week. Groups include:
- Depression Support Groups
- Wellbeing Group
- Postnatal Depression Support Group
- Young Persons (18-25 years) Support
- Eating Disorder Support Groups
- Carers Support Group
- Mindfulness drop in groups
- Woking Mind facilitate drop in groups during the day
- SHIFA Asian Women’s network
Groups are free to attend and are facilitated by staff and volunteers. The groups aim to be a safe place for people to meet others, share experiences and feelings and gain peer support.
Individual meetings can take place with clients to carry out a Mental Health Recovery Star care planning session.
