1. Purpose
My Planet Health C.I.C is committed to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in all areas of its work. This policy sets out our commitment to ensure that all employees, counsellors, volunteers, trainees, clients, contractors, and stakeholders are treated fairly, with dignity and respect.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all individuals connected with My Planet Health C.I.C, including staff, freelance counsellors, students on placement, volunteers, trustees/directors, service users, and visitors.
3. Statement of Commitment
My Planet Health C.I.C opposes all forms of unlawful discrimination, harassment, victimisation, and bullying. We aim to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and supported regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation.

This policy is guided by the Equality Act 2010 and relevant UK legislation concerning equality, human rights, safeguarding, and employment practices.

My Planet Health C.I.C will:

6. Recruitment and Employment of Volunteers / Staff
Recruitment and employment decisions will be transparent, fair, and free from discrimination. Job descriptions and person specifications will focus on skills, experience, qualifications, and competencies relevant to the role.
7. Service Delivery
We are committed to ensuring our counselling services are accessible and responsive to diverse communities. Where possible, reasonable steps will be taken to remove barriers to access.
8. Confidentiality and Respect
All individuals have the right to be treated with dignity and respect. Confidentiality will be maintained in accordance with organisational procedures and ethical requirements.
9. Responsibilities
Management is responsible for implementing and reviewing this policy.
All staff, counsellors, volunteers, and contractors are expected to:

Challenge discriminatory behaviour where appropriate.

Comply with this policy and related procedures.
10. Complaints and Breaches
Any concerns relating to discrimination, harassment, or unfair treatment should be reported to management. Complaints will be handled promptly, sensitively, and fairly in line with organisational procedures.
11. Monitoring and Review
This policy will be reviewed annually or sooner where legislation or organisational needs change.
